I received this book as a freebie in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Jack Shepherd novel. I have read other books set in Thailand and generally find them interesting. This book was no different in that regard.

Initially, I found this novel to be confusing. That was due to the financial nuances and that most characters had at least two names. I like to give an author the benefit of the doubt. So I pushed on and am glad that I did. I soon found myself really intrigues and unable to put it down. I remember thinking to myself that, if I were to start a writing career, I would like to emulate Jake Needham.

I will not belabor the plot of the book since there are other reviewers that have provided that information (thank you to all). Suffice it to say that I will now be looking for number 2 in the series.
