The subtitle "The Unlucky Travels of Ben Appert" is a bit misleading - at least for this first book in the series. Ben is an essential supporting character.

I rather enjoyed this book even though it was a bit confusing in the beginning. The book is written through the eyes of several characters so it is best if you can assume that character while reading. Once I figured that out, the story became more enjoyable.

I think the storyline was clever. The characters were interesting. I do certainly recommend this book just make sure and take the time to familiar yourself with the characters as you come across them. That will allow you to really enjoy the book. Looking forward to the next in the series. Obviously, Ben will be back. I hope that Angie is also as I enjoyed the story the most through her eyes.

Get this book and sit back for an enjoyable read. Take your time and don't rush through it.
