I just finished this tome by Stephen King - my first of his books. My impression of this author was that he was a horror genre writer - which I generally pass on. This book has changed my perspective. Stephen King can write really good historical fiction.I found the story compelling as well as the characters. I read this lengthy book within a week. I literally did not want to put it down. My rating is really 4.5 stars.
