This book is written as if the author was telling stories (true) to family members. If my father had the same experiences, I would have been glued to this story.
I was expecting more of a war chronicle rather than the memories of a WWII flying ace. I did not find the story to be exciting or memorable. A good historical rendering of one man's experiences during WWII for P-38 history buffs or for the families of aviators in the China-Burma-India theater of operations.
